Assistant Facility Security Officer


 

Job Description

  • Assist FSO with overall security program
  • Establish and maintain successful working relationships with government and internal customers
  • Review personnel security clearances and periodic reinvestigations using e-Quip, JPAS and ACAVS
  • Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel
  • Secure and maintain all personnel security clearance records
  • Maintain document and visitor control records; coordinate visit requests
  • Assist FSO with self-inspection and review of security processes to ensure compliance with NISPON, DCIDs, ICDs, and JAFANs
  • Enforce standards for a secure environment for the protection of personnel, property and information
  • Assist with coordination of closeout for all classified contracts received and issued
  • Support other security disciplines as needed: Information, Personnel, Physical and Communications Security

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have or be able to obtain a TS level clearance
  • Should have demonstrated success as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) or equivalent position
  • Should have in-depth knowledge of NISPOM, JPAS and e-Quip
  • Must be able to interpret and implement security policy and guidance and provide oversight and assistance to staff
  • Should be able to demonstrate by knowledge and experience the ability to help the FSO implement and manage a comprehensive Security Program
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to respond to after hour alarms or emergencies
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have a positive, can-do attitude
  • Must be able to juggle competing demands and prioritize work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic environment
  • Must be able to work independently and in teams

Education and Certifications

  • Should have completed applicable DSSA courses
  • Preferred Certifications include any of the following: FSO, COMSEC Custodian, CPSO, ISSM

  • Position based in Colorado Springs, CO. M-F, Part Time
