Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a number of ongoing programs that we have with the Department of Defense.

Requirements

At least a BS in Mechanical Engineering, with a Master’s degree preferred
5 years experience required
Demonstrated competence in structural analysis and solid mechanics, to include the use of the Finite Element Method
Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical and mechanism design
Solid background in Engineering Science fundamentals – fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, control theory, advanced engineering mathematics, engineering simulation
Familiarity with the capabilities of general machine shop tools & manufacturing techniques
Ability to qualitatively or quantitatively estimate the manufacturability of a mechanical design
Experience designing systems according to MILSPEC and/or related DoD performance specifications
Computer skills – Microsoft Office or equivalent), at least one solid modeling system (SolidWorks, Pro Engineer, IronCad, etc.) and some experience with or exposure to a commercial engineering analysis code (Nastran, ANSYS, Algor, Fluent, etc.)
Familiarity with basic electrical circuitry, especially control electronics, is a plus
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability and willingness to travel for customer briefings and field testing
US CITIZENSHIP required for security clearance purposes
