The Challenge
Get in on the ground floor with a multi-million dollar, multi-year program opportunity. Our Senior Project Planner/Scheduler position will offer you an exciting opportunity to participate in the development of a state-of-the-art system for the DoD. Each day you will be responsible for supporting the execution of all project control processes and systems in this exciting program as you support the program management team.
Our Senior Project Planner/Scheduler Specialists:
Are proficient using project management software, importing contractor schedules into a program master schedule and integrating data with other applications such as Access, Microsoft Project and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel.
Are responsible for the development, administration and control of the overall scheduling system for the program including baseline schedules, working schedules and alignment with scope and budgets. Implementation of global standards for processing monthly progress and forecasting as well as baseline management and change controls.
Perform in a functional leadership role as a vital member of a program controls team under the direction of the program manager.
Perform in a lead role in the creation of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Earned Value System (EVS) and development of schedules and budget data (including resource loading) for those WBS elements. Prepare schedule manpower and quantity progress and performance reports. Analyze trends to identify problem areas and submit recommendations for corrective action.
Assemble and compile schedule and cost data and input into the project control database and provide output to the project team. Monitor variances for both cost and schedule using objective earned value methodologies.
Prepare performance reports and other related project planning and control documentation as required by the program manager.
Advise management of risks that may affect project schedules, costs and customer relations through root cause issue identification and corrective action recommendation.
Support the project management team in maintaining timely and effective change management process, procedures and systems.
Possess other related experience and skills commensurate with this level of position.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have a Secret Security clearance or the ability to obtain clearances.
- Minimum education: BS degree from an accredited university or college with four (4) years professional experience or Masters of Science degree.
- Demonstrated experience in using project management software and MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Work may involve sitting for extended periods of time, generally in an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
- May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
- Travel up to 1 week or more per month may be required.
